This has a few reasons. By being dependent on church, family and friends we as missionaries are encouraged to communicate well about our work. In this way, we as missionaries in general, regularly spread the word about wat God has been doing around the world, and also highlight the needs we face on the field.

These stories and testimonies can strengthen the faith of the people in church, but also of friends and family back at home, besides giving them a chance to be an answer to a certain need.

This also makes our dependency on God more profound, the trust that He will provide time after time. And of course our testimony of Gods provision can act as an encouragement to the ones we left behind.
