“We tend to see things in our own perspective”

WEEK 10º
Roberto

This week was interesting, but i did not fell challenged or necessarily learnt anything new. Our teacher, Roberto talked about transcultural communication, but like I said it was interest. I was reminded of how it directly affects our opinions and worldview.

Although this was not a class about interpersonal communication, there were a few discussions in the class that got very heated and thus made me think of my own reaction when someone disagree with my point of view. I started to ask myself if I remain respectful, do I allow the other person to have voice and express their own opinion? And if I am challenging their point of view, where do I draw the line? Where do I say, let’s agree or disagree? How open am I to the other person’s opinion? Do my defense mechanism keep me from listening and admitting when I am wrong? Still working on the answers.

out of the class, we had a lot of fun at the zoo. It was nice hang out with everyone in a setting off base where we weren’t so deep in thought. I took this photo at the zoo where Gabriel was showing to the monkey his phone and how the monkey was trying to figure out what was that. This made me think about cross culture communication when we encounter a culture that is totally different from ours. For the first time we were interest, fearful and intrigued at the same time
